The volleyball team has made it to the class 1AAA State Volleyball Tournament at the Xcel Center.  They kick off tournament play vs. the Edina Hornets on November 8th, 2018 at 11:00 AM. They started off the season strong with their win in the season opener vs. Eden Prairie HS three sets to none.  They then went on to win the home opener vs. Woodbury HS three sets to none. They then played in the Southwest MN Challenge where they started on a hot streak with three straight victories before falling to Champlin Park HS and closed out the challenge with a win over Northfield HS.  After the Southwest MN Challenge they went on to win four straight victories against the likes of crosstown rivals Lakeville North, Rosemount, Tartan, and Apple Valley. The Cougars of Lakeville South went on to play in the Apple Valley Eagle Invitational where they finished with a record of 3-1 losing their final match to Eagan HS.  They then jumped back into regular season play with another loss to Eagan HS but then went 6-0 heading into the Bachman Invitational. They won 4 straight games in the Bachman Invitational before losing to rival Lakeville North. They played their last regular season game vs. Farmington and won three sets to zero before kicking off section play.

With their win over Lakeville North in the Section finals, they were able to go to state.
