Holidays this time of year bring more than gifts under a tree; they bring holiday drinks for people to enjoy. Out of the many holiday drinks from Caribou and Starbucks, there was one that many people highly praised: the Ho Ho Mint Mocha from Caribou Coffee. Caribou describes this drink on its website as one with “real chocolate melted into steamed milk and combined with espresso & mint flavor. Topped with whipped cream & peppermints.”
To see why this drink was so highly rated, we (the Journalism Club) decided to try the drink for ourselves. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to try it with whipped cream and peppermint, but it still met our high standards. All six members who showed up on Monday got the delight to try the drink and rate it too.
On a scale of 10, most ratings fell between 8 and 9, besides one outlier who rated it a 1(only since they do not like chocolate or espresso).
People described the drink as smooth and chocolatey, but not thick- almost like warm chocolate milk. The mint is apparent after you take one sip, as it hits the back of your throat and refreshes your mouth. Overall, the Club was pleasantly surprised with the sweet and minty drink.
Considering this drink received high reviews from our club, and people I polled, I would consider trying it before our next season brings a wave of new spring drinks!
