Table Tennis is a way to get people together, have some fun, and make new friends just like any other sport. Although a lot of people may know someone at LSHS that plays table tennis, it’s not a very common sport, it isn’t advertised a lot or at all, and not a lot of people know LSHS has a team.
The Table Tennis team went to the championships at Academy of Holy Angels on February 23, 2025 with team consisting of 12 boys and 8 girls, which includes:

I interviewed Trevor Rother and Bennett Raway (A Captain), about their roles on the team, important skills, practices, etc. I asked why they joined the LSHS Table Tennis team. Bennett responded, “I decided to Join Table Tennis because I started playing with my brother in our basement and I really liked it so I decided to join when I heard about the club.” Then Trevor replied, “To hang out with friends and have fun.” The second question I asked them was what the most important skill is to them. Bennett says that the most important skill to him is top spin because it is super helpful in hitting fast shots that are hard to hit. Trevor responded with a different answer and that is hand-eye coordination. I asked Bennett about his Job as a captain for the Table Tennis team, he said that a captains job is to make the line ups and choose who they play for the first match in the championships match.
The championships started out in a round robin of 2 brackets. One bracket having 4 teams and one bracket having 3. Games are played with ten singles matches and 5 doubles matches, the team who gets to 8 first wins. LSHS competed in the 4 team bracket and went 3-0. They then moved on to the single elimination tournament that they sadly lost in the first round.
